For: people with visual impairment
One difficulty for the people with visual impairment to draw is that they don’t know where the lines go. But when doing string art, the pins can help them to navigate the picture. Practicing pinning on the board can also develop their sense of space and distance.
Supplies needed: string, scissors, pins, a ball of wool, a piece of cork
Step 1:
Help people with visual impairment to stick the pins into the ball of wool. This can prevent them from pricking their fingers by accident.
Step 2:
Pin around the board; which provides a boardry. Start to pin the shape. Don’t pin all the way down, leave a little bit of the needle out so that there’s space for the strings to do. Use fingers to assure the shape.
Step 3:
Pull string around pins! Push the pins down when finished.
